Chris Hall, Hive Business Manager at Nottingham Trent University

Chris Hall is The Hive Business Manager, responsible for running The Hive, a purpose built Centre for Entrepreneurship and Enterprise at Nottingham Trent University. The Hive was created in 2001 to help support staff, students and alumni develop high growth creative, knowledge and technology based start-up enterprises and give them the skills to run their own businesses, as well as to help drive the entrepreneurship agenda into the curriculum across the university. 

Prior to joining The Hive, Chris worked for over 35 years in a wide range of companies throughout British Industry from “blue chip” to SME’s, in sectors ranging from heavy engineering to food and drink and from roofing products to plastics. Principally employed in roles of operational management, manufacturing and logistics, he has managed several subsidiary operations for major plc’s and has also run his own business consultancy.

Andrew Stevenson, Chairman of EMIN and Director of Enterprise@Lincoln at the University of Lincoln

Andrew is Director of Research & Enterprise at the University of Lincoln and leads the department which supports all research and enterprise activity across the institution, including: research grant support; business start-up & growth; technology transfer; funding partnerships; knowledge exchange; employer engagement and careers & employability.

At the heart of this work is a drive to establish wide and deep relationships with key industrial partners (e.g. Siemens around engineering and the Lincolnshire Co-operative around pharmacy). Andrew also has a leading role in establishing the Lincoln Science & Innovation Park and the Lincoln Growth Fund (supported by the Regional Growth Fund).

Prior to joining the University, Andrew established his own business from start-up, through development and growth to eventual sale. During this period he also secured an Executive MBA, with a particular focus on the reasons for SME short-term failure and how this can be improved.

Andrew is currently a Director and Chair of the East Midlands Incubation Network, a Director of UK Business Incubation, a Director of Investors in Lincoln and the University of Lincoln's representative on the Lachesis Fund.

 

Anjuu Trevedi, Head of Regional Business Engagement and Director of Innovation Partnerships at the University of Leicester

Anjuu Trevedi has responsibility for regional business engagement for the University of Leicester with economic and regeneration development teams, innovation support agencies and SMEs; external funding; governance of structural funds such as ERDF; business support and directorship of Innovation Partnerships project.

Prior to joining the University, Anjuu was co-Director of ProfitNet (SME action learning programme) and Senior Business Development Manager for the University of Brighton with a brief to deliver knowledge exchange to businesses in Sussex and generate grant income for the university.  Before joining Brighton Anjuu was a business advisor in an Enterprise Agency in London, Enterprise Hub Director in Eastbourne and Senior Research Analyst at the Sussex Innovation Centre working with start-up and early stage technology based businesses.
