FEBA urges businesses to grab a share of £3m pot

First Enterprise Business Agency (FEBA) has pumped more than £5m into the East Midlands economy since October 2008, according to new figures.

By providing start-ups and growing businesses with access to loan funding, FEBA said it had also helped create 700 jobs across the region in the past five-and-half-years.

The organisation is urging East Midlands entrepreneurs and expanding companies to come forward and apply for a share of its biggest-ever loan pot of £3m.

Nottingham-based FEBA celebrates its 25th anniversary this year and has grown significantly since it was launched in 1989 to provide the business community with funding and advice to encourage entrepreneurship and support employment.

Today, the agency provides loans and free business advice to start-ups and existing companies right across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire.

Chief executive Qammar Zamman said: "We know there are many budding entrepreneurs in the region and businesses that just need a financial boost to enable them to grow, develop and flourish. These are exactly the kinds of people that can really benefit from loan funding and are the very reason that FEBA exists.

"There is so much business potential in the region that could be unlocked through access to loan funding and so we want to let people know that we're here and ready to help them."
